habibi!!!!

ok, so i made it back tuesday morning. tired as all goodness, but feeling good. i got a nice niec tan, and now even more people think i am italian... or spanish... or BEREBER! (the origianal moroccans.. aparently... i got some earings, yall'll see....)
so anyway, i meant to write on tuesday but i had to write two papers really quick (one in italian.... yeah.. right...) and i was - again - really tired.
but, morocco! amazing. amazing... i don't have words, really, but i'll force it, make some words happen. *deep breath* ok, here we go.
first of all. i charged my camera before it left, and then it must have turned on in my bag of something, cause it was dead when i got there. but i shot 4 disposable cameras of pictures, and will (and have been) stealing images from joli and meredith.
but yeah.

so, the hostel/riad was a little crazy, but Marrakech is a little crazy. the colors in this city are probably the most beautiful things i have every seen in my life. i mean. wow. just beautiful. the main square is full of vendors all hours of the day and night, with oranges and grapefruits for squeezing, piles upon piles of dates, figs, apricots, nuts. there is the constant sound of snake charmers fluting their snakes, the clopping of hourse hooves, the yelling in arabic and french, the buzz of motorbikes/electric bikes, dancers and drummers, people performing tranditional stories in arabic, acrobats.... people with monkey one leashes... one monkey was in a dress.... the place is life. and a freaking pool of consumption waiting to happen.
but haggeling is fun. and i'm not bad at it, plus i just told most people i was italian and they gave me better prices... or so they said. ("you're lucky you aren't american or i would never give this to you this cheap" but... said in italian... which some people spoke.. some)
but. best thing ever. we met (through couchsurfing, although we didn't stay with them) Marouane and Abdsahd (spell??) who are awesome. beautiful. wonderous people.
Marouane (on the left) was like meeting a long lost brother. i love that boy. and i plan on knowing him for the rest of my life. he is so kind and giving. he is a little piece of love. Abdshad is so much fun. we just played the whole time. he's a sweetie. he doesn't speak english or itlaian, but honest to god, we had some amazing conversations in what i could understand of french and what he could understand of itlaian, and then, a lot of gestures tossed in. communication is amazing. languages are amazing. ... anyway. oh and, p.s. they're socialists. word up.

yeah. the atlas mountains... i climbed some of them. and i drank from the top of a waterfall.... really... i still can't believe i can now say, "i want to go back to africa"

.
but so i'm back now, right.
yeah. i have so much work to do.
i will post pictures of art soon...
i have almost no drive to do art right now.
i just want to inhale the world... ya know?
i dunno.

love love and peace yall
